Well, we are finally here in Japan! We got here on Monday and have been trying to adjust to the 16 hr time change! So far so good, Avery has been a trooper with the flight and the time change and all the changes in general. My biggest change is getting used to life with NO CAR! Seriously, all the transportation Rich and I do for the next few months here will be by bike, foot, or public transit. Crazy, but I'm excited to go green and get some
exercise while I'm a it. I got me a sweet new ride, complete with bell, headlight, basket and bike seat for Avery. Not to mention my bike seat is super soft and cushioned- eat your hearts out Heather & Tina! Avery loves her seat and going on rides and we have already done a lot of riding around. Riding off base is a totally different experience than riding on, and my first night off base with Avery in the back seat was a bit scary, but I'm already getting used to balancing 50 lbs on the back of my bike while
navigating narrow busy streets.

Avery is sporting her Tinkerbell helmet, she loves it!
So that's pretty much it so far. I'll update more after the weekend. We are going to head to downtown Tokyo and Mt Fuji so we'll have lots of
picts and fun stuff!

I love your bike...especially Avery's seat on the back! It looks like so much fun!! Glad you made it safe and sound!!
Sweet ride! Glad you made it there and are enjoying it so far! Have fun in Tokyo! Can't wait to hear about the Japanese adventures. ;)
So much fun! Avery looks like she loves it! Can't wait to see pictures!
When I worked at the Bon and Kel was attendingand Utah State there was a lady that came in regularly and would talk about going to Japan after the war and how much fun she had. She had maids and just toured all over with her son so it looks like you are also making the most of your experience. Avery looks great and so grown up.
Lori, we are definitely going to have some fun projects to do this winter... makes it so much more fun when we all get together! The designer of the fabric is Amy Butler she is amazing!
Oh Spencer would be in heaven living there- no cars everyone on bikes. I still don't know how you get all your groceries home. Maybe that's why japanese people are so small and eat only rice hu? Well hoping you having fun there!
