Hakijima Sea Paradise

Biking on base. You can barely see Mt. Fuji over my right shoulder.
Last weekend we went on a trip to Hakijima Sea Paradise. Kind of like a Japanese version of Sea World. We are going so many places that Avery won't necessarily enjoy that we figured we needed to squeeze in a few places just for her. Disneyland will be happening next month, and she can hardly wait! This is a pict of us at the end of the day with a beautiful sunset.

The rides at this place were insanely expensive! Avery really wanted to ride the merry go round, but when I found out the tickets were $5, and I would need a ticket to ride with her and she was too young to ride by herself, we said forget that. She was devistated. Good thing she cheered right up when we found this ghetto little merry go round that was only $1- score.

They let you get so close to the animals here. Avery and I got to pet this Sea Lion- awesome!

Ty, this picture is for you! Avery wanted us to take a picture of her with Promise the train. For some reason we cannot get her to call him Thomas, ALWAYS comes out promise.

Sea Paradise was on it's own little island with really beautiful trails all around it.

Avery loved the turtles, and the polar bears- but those picts didn't turn out. We were there when they were feeding the bears, and it was really cool to watch them swim and dive for their food.
Richard has fallen in love with the toilets here. They take their potties very seriously, it's like each public bathroom tries to 0ut do the others. This is a really simple one. Most have heated seats, bidets, adjustible sprays, scents, flushing sounds, etc. Really elaborate and I'm really worried- Rich keeps googling bidet prices in the states.

Tell Richard that I love the toilets there too! The first time I used the bathroom there, I wasn't quite sure what button to push! Although I wasn't brave enough to try the bidet... Glad you all are having fun on your little Japanese adventure!
