Ok, I am sooo behind on posting on here, I have Halloween still and many, many picts from Japan. But, I just wanted to update on here my Twilight experience for all of you waiting on the edge of your seats......
So, I read it. I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would, probably would rate it 3 out of 5 stars because it did keep my interest and was (when written, now vampire books litter bookstore shelves) an original and intriguing idea. A human in love with a vampire. That said, I couldn't really believe they were in love. Lust maybe, because it was so "dangerous". He ignores her forever, then they spend a weekend talking and kiss a few times and now they are like more in love than anyone in the world. Sorry, don't buy it. Plus, he is WAY too old for her. Not to mention, I really, really didn't like Stephanie Meyer's writting. She just could not stop talking about how beautiful Edward was and how his skin was so perfect and yada yada. I was really sick of hearing about Bella being such a clutz and she really bugged me all together. I found her writting incredibly repetative in her descriptions of all the characters. So those were my issues with it. I think it is overated, and to those that think it's some page turning romance try Pride & Prejudice or Their Eyes Were Watching God, in my opion two of the best love stories ever. So there you have it. I read it, it was ok, I now know what people are talking about, and I am considering, just conisdering reading New Moon. Just to see what happens next. Who knows, I might spare myself Meyer's novel and opt for the movie instead.

Spare yourself the next novel. If you weren't crazy about this one, you'll hate the next ones. I liked the first book and only read the others to find out what happened, but Bella REALLY gets annoying and the whole story just becomes too much of a drama. Might as well just watch the movies and read something better....
I agree with you in your assessment. Bella has always bugged me, even in the movie, because like you said, no one is that much of a clutz!? And I found her personality incredibly boring through all the books. If you want to read New Moon, just read it. You've got nothing to lose!? Though if I remember right, New Moon is the most boring, dragged out book of them all...so maybe you're better off just watching the flick. I liked the fourth one best myself.
I agree! Her writing style was so annoying! She dragged things out way too long! I liked the series, didn't love it, but it was good.Could have been much better if it was not so drwan out. BTW how are you liking hunger games? Cause that series I am LOVING!
Lori, I was just thinking that if you haven't completely given up on the series, you should at least read the partial draft of "Midnight Sun," which is the novel "Twilight" from Edward's perspective. It made everything make more sense to me and made the story complete. At least Bella wouldn't be in your head! If you're at all interested, you can download the pdf on Stephenie Meyer's website (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html).
Ha ha, I agree with you about Bella, and she really gets worse in New Moon. I am going to read Their Eyes Were Watching God if it really is as good as Pride and Predjudice. I have been loving following you and all your adventures in Japan! It looks so fun!
It is as good, but not the same, totally different writting styles, etc. I just mean they are in the same league as far as love stories that I am in love with!
