Another big thing we did this past month was to get rid of Avery's binki! This was very sad, almost more for me and Richard than for Avery! Anyone who knows her knows how completely adicted she was to her binki! She loved them all and wanted one in her mouth 24-7. I had been meaning to take it away several months before, but kept finding excuses like traveling on a plane without it, etc. So finally, knowing that our spring break cruise was coming up and not wanting my sister Melissa to be constantly searching and fighting with Avery over her binki's we mustered up the courage to get rid of them. We cutt off the tips like I had heard many people do and it worked really well. Of course she had a hard time sleeping without it for a few nights but really not too bad. She asked about it a few times during the first week and I would remind her that the binki was broken and she would look really sad and say "bwoken". I let her keep the stubs around as long as she wanted so that I wouldn't be the bad guy taking them away. Whenever she'd see one across the room she'd get all hopefull and run over to it. Yet the moment she realized it was one of the bwoken ones she'd just chuck it as far as she could and was over it. So nice to have a binki free lifestyle now!

When we cut Jakes binks he decided that he would just put the back part of the binki in his mouth. He was mad at first but then became attached to his dang sippy. Avery is such a sweety. :)
